33rd Annual Turkey Trot
Penn State New Kensington Athletic and Recreational Services are getting ready for the 33rd annual Turkey Trot. The purpose of the Turkey Trot is to provide a fun, family-friendly race and to create a level of health and wellness awareness in the community and among Penn State students, faculty, and staff. Last year, over $2,000 was raised for charity and over 100 runners participated. This year's Turkey Trot is set for Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
All proceeds of this event will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Pittsburgh Chapter, which has been supporting patients and their families and friends since 1955. The foundation works to search for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, which is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 people in the United States.
The cost to register for the event is $15 for students, $20 for Penn State faculty and staff, and $25 for community members. Registration forms and any questions about the event can be answered by contacting Race Coordinator Pepsi Umberger by phone (724-334-6747) or email (plh20@psu.edu).
