GOLF TAKES SIXTH IN SEASON OPENER

The Penn State New Kensington golf team opened its season Sept. 11 with a sixth-place finish at the Mont Alto Invitational at Penn National Golf Course in Fayetteville, Pa. Junior Ben Hammel topped the Lions with an 85 in his first collegiate match. New Kensington will hit the road for the Wilkes-Barre Invitational at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Irem Temple Golf Course in Dallas, Pa. Heavy rain on Sept. 4 caused the postponement of the team's first tournament at Brookside Country Club in Allentown.
