PSNK Soccer Falls to Penn State Hazleton at Home
The Penn State New Kensington Men's Soccer team (6-4, 6-1) suffered its first PSUAC loss of the season against Penn State Hazleton (7-2, 5-1) 2-0 on Saturday at Valley High School.
Hazleton was able to get the scoring started in the 30th minute off of an unassisted goal from Kyle Venditti. He was also able to bury a penalty kick in the 69th minute to give the game it's eventual final score of 2-0.
New Kensington Freshman Goalkeeper, Jimmy Cook, recorded 7 saves on 15 shots while Hazleton Goalie, Amanda Vakunas, was able to record 5 saves on 13 shots to preserve the clean sheet.
Ashutosh Pandey led the New Ken Lions with 5 shots and 4 on goal, while Michael Clear had 2 shots and 1 on goal.
Penn State New Kensington will be back in action on Tuesday, October 9th as they travel to Pitt-Greensburg. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
