Penn State New Kensington Earns 2-2 Draw at Hilbert
The Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team showed strong composure on the road, building an early two-goal lead before finishing in a 2-2 draw against Hilbert on Saturday afternoon in Hamburg, N.Y.
The Lions struck quickly as Jayson Ireland continued his impressive form, opening the scoring in the 16th minute off a setup from James Duncan. Just before halftime, the same duo connected again, with Ireland finishing Duncan's second assist of the match to give New Kensington a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Hilbert responded in the second half with goals from Ryan Michelsen and Carter Burke, leveling the match at 2-2 by the 68th minute. Both sides had chances late, but neither could find a winner as the contest ended in a stalemate.
