New Kensington Shuts Out Scranton 5–0 at Home
Penn State New Kensington men's soccer produced a composed all-around performance in a 5–0 home victory over Penn State Scranton on Saturday afternoon. The Lions controlled the pace from start to finish, creating consistent pressure and earning their second clean sheet in as many games.
Sophomore Jayson Ireland opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a composed finish from close range before Carson Zadylak doubled the lead midway through the first half. Zadylak added his second shortly after the restart, tucking away a pass from James Duncan to make it 3–0.
New Kensington's fourth came through Daniel Garcia, who stayed alert as Scranton's defense paused, expecting an offside call, and calmly slotted the ball into the net. Ireland capped the scoring less than two minutes later, finishing a neat exchange with Garcia for his second of the match.
Goalkeeper Kenton Knox made two saves to secure the shutout, while the Lions' back line limited Scranton to just four total shots.
