Historic Win Over NCAA Thiel
Penn State New Kensington Women's Soccer Earns First-Ever Win Over NCAA Opponent with Shutout at Thiel
The Penn State New Kensington women's soccer program made history Wednesday night, securing its first-ever victory over an NCAA opponent with a commanding 3-0 win at Thiel College.
It was a night of breakthrough moments for the young program. Andi Householder opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a composed finish, before Samara Ayodele doubled the advantage less than two minutes later off a smart assist from Bella Oskin. Householder struck again midway through the second half, sealing both her brace and the program's historic win.
While the attack provided the goals, the defense and goalkeeping proved equally monumental. Dana Barczykowski was outstanding between the posts, recording a remarkable 19 saves to shut down a relentless Thiel attack that registered 33 shots.
New Kensington stayed organized and clinical, turning just nine total shots into three goals, while absorbing heavy pressure and countering with efficiency.
This milestone result not only delivered the team's first NCAA win but also showcased the foundation of resilience, teamwork, and belief being built within the program.
